CALLIOPE is one of the main filters in JAGUAR. CALLIOPE (as any Jaguar filter) can be used in normal filter mode or in STEEP filter mode (see STEEP for more information). CALLIOPE is the only filter that supports two independent STEEP settings.

KEY = F

You can use keyboard key F for rotating filters until you get CALLIOPE displayed on AUDIOBAR.



You can also select CALLIOPE directly from that button (click/scroll until you get CALLIOPE) - or you can select it from TOPMENU > FILTERS. Also FILTER applet can be used (click the FILTER name button until you see CALLIOPE displayed).

CALLIOPE filter characteristics (BW, OFFSET, STEEP ON/OFF) can be adjusted via FILTER APPLET, AUDIOBAR or AUDIO WINDOW. General information how to tune these can be found in APPLET / AUDIOBAR / AUDIO WINDOW help

CALLIOPE's STEEP settings are not linked to used filter BW (as in JAZZ filter), instead these two STEEP modes add an additional fixed BW filter at the end of the filter chain: STEEP 3 KHZ and STEEP 4 KHZ. The selected STEEP mode is briefly echoed on the FILTER applet and you see the corrsponding "red fishnet" over the base filter area.



These STEEP modes clean up audio frequency areas outside the 3 kHz / 4 kHz limits, effect can be seen in AUDIO WINDOW and heard in the headphones. Sometimes you'll get a clear improvement in audio using either of these STEEP modes if you prefer using filter bandwidths around 3-4 kHz.
