CUSTOM

JAGUAR PRO ONLY

Jaguar contains a set of dynamic settings and customisations (for example via TOOLBAR > SETTINGS), which are saved and remembered by the system. In addition, the use of [CUSTOM] section in JAGUAR.INI offers additional customisation features.

[CUSTOM] definitions can be written with Notepad or Jaguar's own TEXTPAD (triggered by typing ?? and pressing enter). CUSTOM definitions will become effective after Jaguar restart.

Each [CUSTOM] parameter must start from the beginning of the line and must not contain tabs or line breaks. Comments can be added between parameters by starting the lines with // (two forward slashes).

LOCATION=qth, qthname, latitude, longitude, omid

These two lines are required for the MWLI interface, see MWLI help for details.

CATBOOK_QSL=N

If you add CATBOOK_QSL=N, you'll get the full 80 chars for the audio clip name in CATBOOK => full path can be also included - but you can't use the QSL LINK anymore in CATBOX.

CATBOOK_FOLDER=path_to_some_folder

Overrides your default TURTLE folder. If you define this, RESET is required to deploy this.

CLIP_ARCHIVE=path_to_some_folder

Your audio clip archive folder, used by CATBOOK.

QSL_ARCHIVE=path_to_some_folder

Your digital QSL archive folder, used by CATBOOK.

DEFAULT_ATT=x

Default attenuation value for Perseus (allowed values are 0,1,2 and 3).

S=SIXPACK | SCAN | SCOPE

Override the default keyboard key shortcut for S (SCOPE). SIXPACK, SCAN and SCOPE are the allowed values.

M=MESTOR | MIDGET | MAPS

Override the default keyboard key shortcut for M (MAPS). MESTOR, MIDGET and MAPS are the allowed values.

SCOPEH=height

Override the default SCOPE height (16 pixels). Allowed values are 16 -> 60.

MINIYASH=height

Override the default MINI-YAS height (16 pixels). Allowed values are 16 -> 60.

AUDIOH=height

Override the default AUDIO WINDOW height (250 pixels). Allowed values are 130 -> 250.

FAST_CALIBRATE=frequency

Calibration frequency used in FAST CALIBRATION. See KALIBRATE help for more details.

LOGTAG=x

JAGUAR will use BLUE (P4) for logged station by default but it can be overriden with LOGTAG.
For example LOGTAG=3 will change the default P4 (BLUE) to P3 (BLACK).

LOG_AND_CLOSE=Y

Closes LOGBOX/CATBOX automatically after SUBMIT/SAVE.

XADJUST=x

Can be used with DUALMON for adjusting the exact position of the left edge of the Jaguar display (Jaguar x-position is moved x pixels left/right)

RESET_JAZZ=bw,offset,STEEP

Overrides the default RESET values for JAZZ filter, STEEP is optional.
Example: RESET_JAZZ=4.0, 0.1, STEEP

RESET_CALLIOPE=bw,offset,STEEP

Overrides the default RESET values for CALLIOPE filter, STEEP is optional.
Example: RESET_CALLIOPE=3.2, 0.2

RESET_AM=bw,offset,STEEP

Overrides the default RESET values for AM filter, STEEP is optional.
Note that "offset" must be given also for AM filter (required by syntax, but always set to 0.0kHz in RESET).
Example: RESET_AM=5.2, 0.0, STEEP

CUSTOMFREQS_DEFAULT=filter,bw,offset,STEEP

Overrides the default RESET values in CUSTOMFREQS, STEEP is optional.
Allowed filter names are STOCK, JAZZ, CALLIOPE, AM MODE
Example: CUSTOMFREQS_DEFAULT=JAZZ,4.0, 0.2, STEEP

AUTOSAVE=Y

Save the currently-active HOME spectrum to disk at regular intervals so when you return to that file/frequency, the saved spectrum is reloaded and immediately visible.

CLIPPER=mins

Use the defined buffer area in memory for audio clip handling and editing. The default is CLIPPER=5 (minutes) but it can be extended. For example, CLIPPER=10 reserves a 10-minute memory buffer for audio clips.

EOFMODE=KEEP/FQUP/FQDN

By default, JAGUAR continues the playback (EOFMODE=NEXT) in the next file when the end-of-file is reached in the current file. This behaviour can be changed with the EOFMODE parameter. The available options are:

• KEEP: Return to the beginning of the file on the current frequency.
• FQUP: Increase the frequency according to the selected frequency stepping.
• FQDN: Decrease the frequency according to the selected frequency stepping.

FILEMAIL=uid

Define a predetermined recipient for FILEMAILs. Give a valid JAGUAR USERID for UID. If this is set, JAGUAR does not ask the recipient ID when FILEMAIL is sent.

LOGMODE=parameters

The user can customize in many ways the default log format JAGUAR produces. For example, if LOGFORMAT=OLL is used, JAGUAR will create log rows which are compatible with the OLL logging system. In addition, the output row can be freely customised with fixed literal strings and LOGMODE parameters. Each parameter is four characters log, preceded by #. JAGUAR fills the parameter value in during logging. The valid parameters are as follows:

#NAME #FREQ #DATE #TIME #CALL #ITUC #USER #USRN #OFFS #QSAC #ZONE #YYYY #MMMM #DDDD #HHHH #MINS #MNTH #SECS #FILE #LINE #DIST #COMM # TENT #SINP #CALX #NAMX

For example, when

LOGMODE=#FREQ #TIME #NAME #COMM #USER

is defined, LOGGERBAR generates log lines with frequency, time, station name, comments and userid.

LOGMODE=#FREQ;#CALX;#NAMX-#COMM;#SINP;#HHHH#MINS;#DDDD/#MMMM;USER

This setting produces an optimal logging line for the MWC log format; #CALX and #NAMX generate strings designed for MWC in mind. USER must be replaced by the user initials used in MWC, which may be different from #USER which generates the JAGUAR userid. All values are separated by a semicolon, so the output file can also be loaded to Excel.

COMPORT=comport

Define a Windows COM port for Velleman/Devantech antenna relay control boards. For example, COMPORT=COM3 directs antenna relay control commands to COM3.

CLIPFOLDER=path-to-clip-folder

By default, the SAVE function of CLIPPER saves the audio clips to the CLIPS folder located in the JAGUAR main folder. The user can override this default folder. If the user has defined LOGPROFILEs, there can be a maximum of 3 separate clip folders (CLIPFOLDER1=, CLIPFOLDER2= and CLIPFOLDER3=), one of each LOGPROFILE.

LOGPROFILE1=log-profile-name

The user can have a maximum of 3 log profiles (LOGPROFILE1=, LOGPROFILE2= and LOGPROFILE3=) and give a name to each log profile, for example:

LOGPROFILE1=A-QTH
LOGPROFILE2=B-QTH
LOGPROFILE3=REMOTE-QTH

These profiles are useful if the user wants to make loggings to several publications. See Advanced Usage > Log Profiles.

LOGFOLDER=path-to-log-folder

By default, all JAGUAR-generated logs are saved to the LOGS folder under the JAGUAR main folder. The user can override this default folder with this parameter.

JAGUARLITE=Y

JAGUAR PRO users can simulate the JAGUAR LITE functionality by defining JAGUARLITE=Y

ANTENNAKEYS=Y

Users who have defined the [ANTENNAS] section can use the function keys (PF1-PF9) for antenna switching by setting ANTENNAKEYS to Y. Otherwise, the function keys PF-PF9 are used for changing filter presets (bandwidth/offset).

WWI=value

Pressing SPACEBAR creates a "What Was It" audio loop. The default duration is 10 seconds but the user can change this value. The WWI values between 0 and 10 seconds are allowed. 0 (zero) means that the WWI looping is disabled, i.e. SPACEBAR will be ignored.

TOH=startsec,endsec

Set an automatic audio-loop time period around the top of the hour. The default TOH LOOP is from XX:59:40 to XX:00:05. The user can increase/decrease the duration. For example, TOH=30,30 overrides the default TOH LOOP with new values ranging from XX:59:30 to XX:00:30.

BOT=startsec,endsec

Set an automatic audio-loop time period around the bottom of the hour. The default BOT LOOP is from XX:29:50 to XX:30:10. the user can increase/decrease the duration. For example, BOT=30,30 overrides the default BOT LOOP with new values ranging from XX:29:30 to XX:30:30.

CITYLIST=city1,lat,lon,city2,lat,lon,city,lat,lon,...

Define a maximum of 5 DX target cities with their corresponding latitudes and longitudes. Their sunrise times will appear in YAS logs. North American JAGUAR users can define the target cities for sunset times.

KEEPZOOMPOS=Y

Keep the YAS log position fixed when the lowest YAS zoom level is used.

LEVEL=BOTTOM

Run JAGUAR 100% full-screen, allocating the space reserved for the Windows taskbar for JAGUAR.

MP3TAGS=Y

Adds information to basic MP3 tags when creating MP3 audio clips: TITLE = base frequency, ARTIST = station name, ALBUM = date/time stamp. Most MP3 players can display this data in various ways.

REC_BREAKPOINT=57

Prevent the TOH appearing at file breaks. REC_BREAKPOINT can be set to any minute but 57 or 58 are the optimal values. JAGUAR will make a file breakpoint always exactly at each XX:57:00 or XX:58:00.

DUALMON=xresolution,yresolution

Show JAGUAR’s main display on an alternative monitor. The desired x-resolution and y-resolution must be given. These values may need to be trimmed from the default resolution values in order to get a full screen coverage. Also, DUALMON=xresolution,yresolution,INVERSE can be used to re-position JAGUAR on the "other side" of the main display. Note that INVERSE may not work in every situation.

BANDSTOPPER=Y

Control how frequency-scrolling behaves when either end is reached. The default is BANDSTOPPER=C, i.e. the circular mode: when either end of the dial is reached, the control jumps to the beginning/end of the dial. BANDSTOPPER=Y stops scrolling when the end of the dial is reached. BANDSTOPPER=N allows the user to access the "grey area" of the bandwidth, i.e. outside the alias-free area of the wideband recording.

X1BUTTON=keyboardkey
X2BUTTON=keyboardkey

Customise the behaviour of a mouse with two side buttons (X1 and X2). The default behaviours are X1 = N (NEXT FILE), and X2 = P (PREV FILE).

GPULEVEL=2

Use only if you have problems with the map display. Some older GPUs cannot show high-resolution maps in JAGUAR. If the maps are not visible, the user may try to use GPULEVEL=2. Also, GPULEVEL=3 is available (but only use it if GPULEVEL=2 does not work). This may help; the maps should work now but with below the average/low resolution.

CLIPNAME=#FREQ_#CALL_#DATE_#TIME.MP3

Customise the format of audio clip file names. When creating audio clips with CLIPPER, the default name format is as follows:

DATE TIME CLIP FREQ.MP3

or, if you have clicked the station name on the map or in the station database before starting CLIPPER,

DATE TIME NAME FREQ.MP3

You can customise the default name, using 4-char symbols:

#FREQ #DATE #TIME #NAME #CALL #SSB and literals.

For example, if you want your audio clip names to start with the frequency and use underscores in the name so that the clip files can be used in URLs, you can define:

CLIPNAME=#FREQ_#CALL_#DATE_#TIME_IPA.MP3

which generates clips named such as 1030_WBZ_2015-11-08_06'00'00_IPA.MP3

The WAV file format can be overridden in the FORMAT menu of CLIPPER. The choices are: WAV, MP3high, MP3avg, MP3small.
