LOOP
Jaguar offers several ways for creating a LOOP
in order to repeat a small portion of audio during playback:
• a user-adjustable manual loop by pressing the UP ARROW key twice (once
at loop start and once at the end of the loop)
• the previous can be done also by clicking TOOLBAR > LOOP icon twice
(once at loop start and once at the end of the loop)
• “What Was It" (WWI) loop by pressing SPACEBAR (creating an
10-second-long LOOP by default)
• TOHBOTLOOP (loop around the nearest TOH or BOT) by clicking the CLOCK
icon on STATUSBAR twice (the first click jumps to a file
where the nearest TOH/BOT spot is found and sets the loop start, the next click
sets the end of the loop)
LOOPs are displayed on the PLAYBAR with special flag markers.
HOW TO
LOOP marker positions can be changed by moving
the mouse cursor over the marker flag (the flag colour turns red when ready for
repositioning), and scrolling by mouse wheel or pressing the left/right arrow
keys. You can also drag the LOOP marker to desired position.
Default TOHBOTLOOP is set between XX'59'40-XX'00'05 (for TOH LOOP) or
XX'29'50-XX'30'10 (for BOT LOOP). These times can be customised as shown
below.
You can release the audio loop (and their markers) by pressing the UP ARROW key
once again, clicking TOOLBAR > LOOP once again, pressing SPACEBAR once
again, clicking the CLOCK icon once again or simply by pressing keyboard key
ESC.
If you have a LOOP displayed, pressing keyboard key C (=CLIPPER) creates an
audio clip based on those LOOP markers. If you instead click TOOLBAR >
SCISSORS, you'll get a small popup menu, from which you can select either CHOP
(see more details in CHOP help) or CLIPPER.
There is an additional AUTOLOOP function available: TOOLBAR > SETTINGS >
PREFERENCES > AUTOLOOP. If this is ticked, whenever Jaguar opens up an
ARCHIVE file that contains TOH or BOT timespot, the system sets TOHBOTLOOP
automatically.
User can customise the default LOOP settings in [CUSTOM] as follows:
WWI=value
Pressing SPACEBAR creates a "What Was It" audio loop. The default duration is
10 seconds but the user can change this value. The WWI values between 0 and 10
seconds are allowed. 0 (zero) means that the WWI looping is disabled, i.e.
SPACEBAR will be ignored.
TOH=startsec,endsec
Set an automatic audio-loop time period around the top of the hour. The default
TOH LOOP is from XX:59:40 to XX:00:05. The user can increase/decrease the
duration. For example, TOH=30,30 overrides the default TOH LOOP with new values
ranging from XX:59:30 to XX:00:30.
BOT=startsec,endsec
Set an automatic audio-loop time period around the bottom of the hour. The
default BOT LOOP is from XX:29:50 to XX:30:10. the user can increase/decrease
the duration. For example, BOT=30,30 overrides the default BOT LOOP with new
values ranging from XX:29:30 to XX:30:30.
