MIDGET is the easiest SDR player ever ! In MIDGET only time and frequency are shown as a text overlay over other Windows applications, the size of MIDGET is customizable.
MIDGET can be invoked via MENU > MISC > MIDGET. If you use MIDGET often, you can replace the keyboard key M for MIDGET ON/OFF (JAGUAR PRO ONLY). By default M triggers MAPS ON/OFF, but if you define
[CUSTOM] M=MIDGET
you can toggle MIDGET ON/OFF using the M key.
Furthermore, MIDGET can be defined to be invoked by a mouse right-click (TOOLBAR > SETTINGS > RIGHTCLICK > MIDGET).
MIDGET is a minimized version of JAGUAR, with only the main controls available. These controls are available when MIDGET has the keyboard/mouse focus (the MIDGET color is red). Otherwise (when working with other Windows applications), the MIDGET color is yellow. User can set the focus to MIDGET by hovering mouse over it.
MIDGET has the following services available:
• Navigation forward/backwards with the left/right arrow keys
• Only the following keyboards can be used: Z (FREQ SCROLL on/off), P (PREV FILE), N (NEXT FILE) and M (MIDGET off).
• Left click toggles FREQ SCROLL <> TIME SCROLL (= Z key).
• Right click restores the full screen JAGUAR (= MIDGET OFF).
• MIDGET size can be decreased/increased using mouse wheel scroll.
• Drag and drop can be used to re-position MIDGET on the computer screen.
MIDGET is an ideal tool for those who listen a lot but must do other things on the same computer at the same time. Or for those who just want to use the simplest possible SDR playback tool.
Tip: if you have a multi-monitor display setup, you can drag MIDGET to the 2nd (or 3rd) monitor so you'll free the main monitor totally for other applications. Whenever you need full Jaguar services, you can stop MIDGET mode and the Big Cat will appear back on your main monitor. The last MIDGET location is remembered at the next Jaguar restart.
