JAGUAR PRO ONLY
OFFSET LOGGING has been made easy in Jaguar: you can send your loggings to many
targets with one single click using LOGBOX.
Offsets can be logged either to text file, MWLI or CATBOOK using the "SEND
OFFSET TO ...." function in LOGBOX. It is recommended to share your offsets
with fellow DXers around the world and use the MWLI interface for the offset
logging. However the current MWLI offset database has a lot of outdated /
erroneous offsets and that's why many DXers have decided to collect / maintain
their own offset list locally.
The classic offset logging consists of adding a row to a text file. Jaguar's
offset log file is named OFFSET.LOG and it is maintained in LOGS folder located
in Jaguar installation folder. Each offset logging uses the format "YYYY-MM-DD;
BASEFREQ; ITU; Station name; OFFSET", for example
2015-11-05; 972; NIG; Katsina State R & TV Service, Dutsinma; 972.0007;
MWLI users can use the builtin direct logging interface for logging offsets to
MWLI offset database.
If you just want to maintain your own local offset collection for Jaguar, you
don't need to use LOGBOX for that: instead of logging to file / MWLI you can
use faster "direct offset logging" to CATBOOK: STATION MENU contains a fast
"FLAGGER" tool for adding a new local offset.
These "flagged" offsets (also known as "my own offsets") are saved in CATBOOK
but they can be also seen in TURTLE as follows
and they can also be presented as
• FLAGS
• MY OFFSET LIST
