PLAYBAR
PLAYBAR is the heart of Jaguar showing the
progress of the playback. The length of each playback file is adjusted to cover
the full screen width and you can jump to desired position by clicking on the
PLAYBAR. The playback of a recorded file ("ACHIVE MODE") and the playback when
connected to Perseus hardware ("LIVE MODE") are displayed almost identical way
(Perseus playback uses a buffer file). More details can be found in ARCHIVE
MODE and LIVE MODE help sections. The progress bar color can be
• Blue (ARCHIVE MODE)
• Green (LIVE MODE, no recording)
• Red (LIVE MODE, recording
Jaguar supports two main "scroll modes" when the mouse cursor is located over
PLAYBAR: TIME SCROLL and FREQ SCROLL. These scroll modes are available when the
text colour on the PLAYBAR is white (otherwise the PLAYBAR text color is the
same as the selected colour theme for the buttons).
When the active scroll mode is FREQ SCROLL, the frequency part of the PLAYBAR
string is restricted with (( XXX )) markers and the scroll function changes
nominal frequencies based on the selected stepping.
When the active scroll mode is TIME SCROLL, the frequency part of the PLAYBAR
string shows the exact offset played XXX.XXXX and the scroll function changes
time instead of frequency.
A small triangle below the PLAYBAR shows the exact position of a TOH / BOT, if
such is included in the playback/buffer file.
In addition PLAYBAR supports some special services described below.
HOW TO
KEY = Z
The scroll mode FREQ SCROLL <> TIME SCROLL can be toggled by pressing
keyboard key Z. Alternatively you can toggle it by clicking TOOLBAR > (( ))
icon (FREQ SCROLL icon).
In addition, you can temporarily always override the TIME SCROLL mode by moving
the mouse cursor over the frequency: XXX.XXXX changes to (( XXX )) and you can
scroll frequencies (using mouse wheel or left/right arrow keys) as long as the
mouse cursor is positioned over the frequency.
If you work with other applications at the same time when listening to Jaguar,
the keyboard / mouse wheel focus is then often reserved by some other
application. You can restore the focus back to Jaguar using standard Windows
ways (for example ALT-TAB), but if the PLAYBAR is visible, you can also just
move the mouse cursor over PLAYBAR's frequency area and Jaguar steals the
keyboard / mouse wheel focus automatically.
JAGUAR PRO ONLY
You can send audio clips or other files to other Jaguar users (or to your other
Jaguar PCs) with dragging and dropping the file to PLAYBAR (see FILEMAIL help
for instructions).
