SETTINGS
JAGUAR's basic SETTINGS are collected to one
main SETTINGS menu. All of these are not available in JAGUAR LITE (those items
are grayed). In addition, JAGUAR PRO users can make more customizations in the
[CUSTOM] section of JAGUAR.INI.
The basic settings are grouped into the following classes:
• PERFORMANCE
• SPECTOR
• GRAPHICS+
• PREFERENCES
• LEFTPAW
• RIGHTPAW (optional)
• RIGHTCLICK
• TOOLTIPS
HOW TO
JAGUAR’s basic settings can be changed
by clicking the SETTINGS icon on TOOLBAR => the SETTINGS popup menu is
triggered. You can activate desired setting by ticking it from the menu.
PERFORMANCE
• MAX CPU: Maximize the CPU usage in audio demodulation. If you disable
MAX CPU, you will achieve some savings in the CPU usage as some calculations
are skipped in audio processing. Normally, they go unnoticed in the final
audio.
• PREAMP: Enable/disable the Perseus preamplifier.
• DITHER: Enable/disable the DITHER function in the Perseus hardware.
Disabling this should improve sensitivity in low signal-strength areas.
SPECTOR
• DOWNSIZE: Cut SPECTOR peak sizes to half => you'll get more graphics
area visible.
• FULL CROSSHAIR: Both horizontal and vertical mouse lines will be shown
when cursor is moved on SPECTRA and YAS displays.
• TOP SPECTOR: SPECTOR is shown also as a mirror image on the top of the
display.
• TRANSPARENT: (PRO only) SPECTOR peaks are displayed transparent =>
FLAGS can be seen behind the SPECTOR peaks.
• SPECTOR SHADOW: Gradient color mode used in SPECTOR peaks.
• SPECTOR SIGHT: "Rifle grid" is shown around the nominal frequency.
GRAPHICS+
• TEXT SHADOW: Better visibility of station names on MAPS.
• FAT TOP: SLIDER will never cover the DATABASE BAR, instead when SLIDER
is closed, it is docked below DATABASE BAR.
• FLAGSPOT: Offset flag is shown at the "runspot" (playback position) on
SPECTRA and YAS displays.
• MAP TIMES: Great Circle Arc / NOX time / sunrise and sunset times at rx
QTH are shown when the mouse cursor is hovered over a station on MAPS. The NOX
time (shown on the arc as a red ball) is the midnight time at the geographical
midpoint between the Transmitter and the Receiver QTH. Experience has shown
that the midpoint midnight is one of the best potential times to catch good
"ultra-long" MW DX stations from the other side of the globe.
• MY OFFSET LIST: (PRO only) User's own offsets for the current frequency
are shown as a text overlay on the right edge of the display.
• STICKY POINTER: If user moves the mouse cursor away from the station on
MAPS, the station pointer will stay visible for that station until a new
station is selected.
• TIMEFLAG: When mouse cursor is moved over the PLAYBAR, the corresponding
time is shown as a small flag pointer.
PREFERENCES
• ALT-HOME: YAS: (PRO only) If you want to change your "home page" from
the HOME spectrum to YAS LOG, enable this setting.
• AUTOLOOP:(PRO only) When playback jumps to a TOH or BOT file, Jaguar
creates automatically a TOH / BOT LOOP (the LOOP start and end positions can be
customized in [CUSTOM]).
• CONFIRMATIONS: An extra confirmation popup will be asked in some
functions.
• CUSTOM FREQS: (PRO only) Enables the support for frequency-based filter
settings (see CUSTOMFREQS help)
• DELETEKEY: The DELETE keyboard key can be used to delete the
currently-active archive file. Otherwise, pressing the DELETE key is
ignored.
• GLOBAL COLOR: (PRO only) The same color theme is used for all
databases.
• SPACEBAR-JAGASS: (PRO only) SPACEBAR press automatically opens/closes
AUDIO WINDOW + TURTLE in addition to automatic looping of the last played
seconds (="What Was It"-loop). Using this feature user can normally keep only
the "hunting tools" visible but after hearing something interesting, pressing
SPACEBAR opens all the needed "ID solving tools" with one key press.
• KEEP DISK PRIORITY: Recordings will always be saved to the primary disk
defined in [MESTOR] SET DISK if that disk is available.
• KEEP MAXIMIZED: JAGUAR does not automatically enter the MESTOR applet
mode. Normally, the MESTOR applet mode is invoked if there is no user activity
in one hour. Do not keep this enabled in unattended operations. The MESTOR
applet mode minimises the resource consumption and there is also a bigger risk
for failed recordings using this option.
• REVERSEWHEEL: Reverse the direction of mouse scrolling in the main
operations.
• START AS MESTOR: JAGUAR will automatically enter the MESTOR mode after a
start-up.
LEFTPAW
• LEFTCLICK: JAGUAR will ask you to press the keyboard key you want to
bind the LEFTPAW left-click to. After this binding, LEFTPAW left click will
invoke the function bound to the selected keyboard key.
• RIGHTCLICK: The same as LEFTCLICK, but for the mouse right-click.
RIGHTPAW (optional)
Similar to LEFTPAW: LEFTCLICK and RIGHTCLICK can be configured separately.
However this menu option is not available, if you have selected MOUSETRAP as
your default system-level RIGHTCLICK function (see below) - this is the default
in JAGUAR LITE.
RIGHTCLICK (PRO only)
The RIGHTCLICK functionality of the mouse on the background screens
("WALLPAPERS") can be selected from the following options:
• TOP MENU: Open the main top menu.
• MOUSETRAP: Re-locate the mouse to the rightenmost PAWBUTTON
(basebutton).
• LSB <> USB: Toggle between LSB and USB.
• SPECTRA: Right-clicking rotates HOME > EXTENDED SPECTRUM >
YASLOG.
• CUSTOMKEY: If you set this option, JAGUAR will ask you to press the
keyboard key you want to bind the RIGHTCLICK to. After this binding, mouse
right click on graphics area will always invoke the function bound to the
selected keyboard key.
• MIDGET: Enter the MIDGET mode where JAGUAR continues the playback with
basic functions while the user can focus on some other application at the same
time.
• FLAGS: Rotate FLAGS: GLOBAL FLAGS > MY FLAGS > FLAGS OFF.
TOOLTIPS
Short help texts will be shown when the mouse hovers over the buttons on SLIDER
/ AUDIOBAR / STATUSBAR / TOOLBAR.
