VFO

MW frequency tuning is normally made in 9kHz or 10kHz steps. When either of these is selected, Jaguar's frequency scroll (mouse wheel and left/right arrow keys) use the selected spacing in tuning. In addition to these two base stepping modes, sometimes it is also handy to use "memory banks" as an alternative stepping. These memory banks (frequency lists) are supported in Jaguar's VFO feature.

By default, Jaguar uses the frequency list defined in [MESTOR] section (see SET VFO in MESTOR help for more details). The default frequency list in the installation template is 1230,1240,1340,1400,1450,1490 ie. the grayeyard frequencies. User can override this list, and in addition user-defined frequency lists can be added to the system (see DIALS help for more information).

Pre-defined VFO frequency lists can be used as efficient finding of // parallel programs or checking the signal levels of the indicator stations from specified areas. In addition, VFO frequency list can be used in SCANS: user can give "VFO" (=currently active frequency list loaded to VFO) as an input to AUTOSCAN or MANUAL SCAN (see SCANS help for more information).

Note: DIALS and SCANS are not available in JAGUAR LITE.

HOW TO

KEY = V

Pressing keyboard key V you can rotate the frequency stepping modes 9-kHz stepping > 10-kHz stepping > the currently-active VFO/DIAL stepping. Alternatively you can click TOOLBAR > VFO or select VFO from TOPMENU > VFO. When VFO frequency stepping is active, VFO icon on TOOLBAR is red. In addition, currently active frequency list name is shown on STATUSBAR (= either the active DIAL name or plain "VFO" if the standard VFO defined in [MESTOR] section is used).
